Lying on the beach
is only one out of many options on Lohifushi. Sports- in the water
or on land, excursions and evening entertainment offer you a varied
holiday full of excitement and fun.
Water sports
Our established water sports centre provides you with all kinds of
water activities, such as Wind surfing, Catamaran Sailing or Water
skiing for beginners to advanced level with the possibility of
obtaining an international license. Banana Riding guarantees you
great fun and excitement; a canoe gliding through the water provides
you with tranquility and peace. Don’t miss the thrill of sailing
into the sunset!
Wave Surfing
Lohifushi’s reputation as the best destination for surfing in the
North Malé Atoll is certainly justified with around 7 or 8 surfing
breaks (Ninja, Lohi’s, Pasta, Sultan, Cokes, Honkies, Chickens,
Himmafushi); surf only minutes away from the shore.
Land sports
Our floodlit tennis courts and badminton court offer an active
alternative to sunbathing and the air conditioned squash court gives
you the opportunity to keep up your exercise regimen or enjoy a
challenging match with friends. Our modern gym is well equipped and
very popular. Players as well as spectators regularly attend our
beach volleyball court and many exciting games have taken place
here.
Staff and guests alike and always the scene of exciting, competitive
and friendly matches frequent our huge grass football field.
For a quiet evening with your friends our sports centre offers
indoor games such as table football, carom (a traditional Maldivian
game), chess and table tennis.
Entertainment
Our weekly programme has been carefully designed and is varied and
interesting. Monday night is Maldivian Night opening with a
Maldivian style buffet in the Banyan restaurant and entertaining you
with traditional Maldivian drums, the "Boduberu", and dances. Get
into the rhythm of this exotic music and enjoy a taste of Maldivian
culture. It's Disco night on Tuesday! Dance to the hot rhythms of
brand-new hits in open tropical air. Our popular disc jockey will be
eager to play your favorites, so 'get down and move it all around'!
Don't miss the fascinating Fire Limbo on the beach on Wednesday! You
will be amazed by the breathtaking performance of our experienced
limbo dancers. Have you always fancied singing your favorite song in
front of an audience? Do the real thing and take part in our Karaoke
night in open air or in our cozy lounge on Thursday.
Friday is a holiday in the Maldives. On Saturday a popular local
band entertaining you with new hits and Maldivian songs will bring
Night Fever to you. As background or dance music definitely a
favorite amongst our guests. Get your popcorn ready for Sunday, when
we will invite you into our comfortable TV room for one of our
numerous movies. Apart from this weekly program you are free at any
time of the day to make use of the Satellite TV room, the Billiard
table, the darts, the chessboard and the Karaoke room. For a quiet
moment visit our Reading Corner, where you can browse through our
wide collection of multi-lingual books and magazines whilst sitting
on a traditional. Maldivian swing, the "Undholi". To keep and
constantly improve our reading material our motto is "Give one and
take one away!"
Crab races and Beach parties are only a few more of the activities
on offer.
